For many years Andrew Masullo has filled his studio with small abstract oil paintings in a numbered series. On stretched canvas, these brightly-colored simple compositions trigger responses both serious and playful.  Using a palette of nearly primary yet not quite pastel hues, he explores permutations of shape and color that provoke thoughtful comparison to great authors of abstract art while retaining an immediacy with the viewer.
